Why Atacand could be right for you
If you have recently been told by your Doctor that you have high blood pressure, it is likely that you may have been prescribed a medicine called an ACE inhibitor (such as cilazapril and accupril).
Some people who have tried an ACE inhibitor may have experienced unpleasant coughing as a side effect linked to taking the medicine. If this is the case, Atacand (candesartan) may be appropriate for you.
Atacand has less chance of making you cough, while still reducing your blood pressure. Atacand is a medicine used to help treat people with high blood pressure or heart failure. It is from a class of medicines called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), which act to reduce your blood pressure.
Speak with your Doctor to see if Atacand is appropriate.
